Tired of having to remember a username and password for every site? I know I am. That's why we have decided to support OpenID for iusethis. That means if you have an OpenID provider (And you probably do, OpenID is supported by Livejournal, AOL/AIM, Yahoo and more already), you will never have to type in your iusethis username and password again.
I guess you're ready to try this out by now, and using it couldn't be much simpler. Go to the login screen, and notice the new 'OpenID URL' field below login/password. Fill it out click the button, and presto. Well, the I actually told a white lie before, you will have to enter your iusethis username/password one more time after we've validated your OpenID, to tie it to the the local account, but from then on, you'll be logged right into the site when you provide the OpenID Url. You can also register from that screen, if you don't have a iusethis account already (shame on you, if so :)
Adding support was really easy too, thanks to miyagawa's OpenID plugin for Catalyst.
Hope this gives you one less thing to remember! :)
Take care
Marcus

Sweet!! Great work!
This is quite exciting to see more OpenID consumers and it seems to work very well. However, the implementation seems to be done only halfway in certain respects. For example, once I link my OpenID to my account, there is no indication of that when looking at my profile. You’ll find that most OpenID consumers have settings here to add or remove OpenIDs to your account. That also brings up the other strange thing… I can only link one OpenID to my account. If I link another one, it works fine but silently disconnects the previous ID from my account. It would be great if this supported a to-many relationship with OpenIDs. Just a few small things on an otherwise excellent implementation.
Great job! This is a perfect application for OpenID.
Actually yahoo has third party support using bbauth http://developer.yahoo.com/auth/
Hurrah! Excellent move, thank you.
Now, if you could only allow OpenID for posting blog comments … :-)
Actually, Will Norris (commented above) has been working on an excellent WordPress OpenID plugin that I’d recommend you consider adopting here on this blog to get the full value out of your implementation!
